Taiwan-based memory giant ADATA Technology has officially launched a major semiconductor project in Tamil Nadu. On February 26, 2026, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. MK Stalin, laid the foundation stone for the company’s new manufacturing facility.
Location: The unit is being established at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Sriperumbudur, Kanchipuram district.
Investment: ADATA Semiconductor Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary, has committed an investment of ₹931 crore.
Employment: The facility is expected to create 823 high-quality jobs in the region.
Products: The plant will manufacture high-value components including DRAM memory modules and flash drives for desktops, laptops, and servers
This investment marks a major milestone as ADATA is the first Taiwanese company to establish memory module manufacturing in India. The project aligns with the India Semiconductor Mission and strengthens Tamil Nadu’s position in the global electronics supply chain, which already contributes over 41% of India’s electronics exports.
