Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL) Signs MoU with Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to Support Personnel and Their Families

Chennai, April 2026: Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), India’s leading provider of test preparatory services, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to enhance the welfare of ITBP personnel and their families, including serving members, retirees, gallantry awardees, disabled personnel, boarded-out cases, and families of martyrs who died in harness.

Mr. Chandra Sekhar Garisa Reddy, MD & CEO of Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), stated, “At AESL, education is the foundation of advancement. The alliance with the ITBP recognises the commitment of our protectors at the borders, and gives their families access to premium coaching, scholarships and guidance to help them achieve their full abilities. Similar MoUs have been executed with the Indian Army, BSF, and CRPF to support personnel and their families on behalf of AESL.

The initiative will benefit serving and retired personnel, gallantry awardees, disabled members of the forces, and families of those who have laid down their lives in the line of duty. Designed as a long-term support programme, it aims to reduce financial barriers while strengthening academic preparedness for students aspiring to competitive career pathways.

As part of the agreement, AESL will offer scholarships linked to service conditions to eligible personnel and their wards. The scholarship programme will run for five years and will work alongside AESL’s existing merit-based scholarship initiatives to widen access to high-quality academic coaching.

To ensure wider participation, AESL will conduct national scholarship and talent identification assessments — including the Aakash National Talent Hunt Exam (ANTHE) and similar evaluations — either at ITBP school facilities or AESL centres across multiple locations. This approach is intended to make the process convenient and accessible for eligible candidates across the country.
Scholarship Support Includes for ITBP Personnel and Families:
● 100% waiver on all course fees (registration and admission fees payable) for wards/families of martyrs, death in harness, boarded-out cases, disabled wards, and orphans.
● 90% waiver on tuition fees for wards of gallantry award recipients or personnel with more than 20% disability, subject to certification.
● 20% scholarship on tuition fees for wards of serving and retired personnel, applicable after other eligible scholarships in addition to the scholarship achieved by the student

Beyond financial assistance to include educational mentoring, career counselling in a virtual and physical environment as well as promotion through ITBP units in order to reach a larger audience. These programmes will be in addition to the standard scholarships that AESL provides to all students.
