Chennai, September 25th 2022: The Medway Heart Instituteorganised the World Heart Day 2022 Walkathon event on the morning of 25 September, 2022, Sunday. The occasion was flagged off by well-known Tamil film actor Mr. Vikram Prabhu at 7am, from the Olcott Memorial Higher Secondary School in Besant Nagar, Chennai.
The event witnessed extensive participation not only from the employees of the Medway Group of Hospitals, but also the walkers associations, fitness enthusiasts and general public, with a lively energy being evident amongst the crowd, which included people of all ages.

As numerous research studies have documented that walking at least 5000 steps a day reduces the risk of heart ailments, prevents complications of heart attack, stroke and improves longevity, the World Heart Day Walkathon by the Medway Group of Hospitals was a proactive initiative to encourage people of all age groups to adopt a healthy active lifestyle and engage in physical activity on a daily basis.
